State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety Signs MoU with Witkowitz Atomica on DAVID SMR Development
In 2022, the State Enterprise "State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety" (SSTC NRS / ДНТЦ ЯРБ) and Witkowitz Atomica a.s. signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation regarding the development of the DAVID small modular reactor.

Purpose
To define the general terms of cooperation between the Parties regarding consultative and expert-technical support for the development of the small modular reactor within the DAVID SMR project framework, for the creation of a modular nuclear power plant with a high degree of reliability and safety.

Strategic Significance
SSTC NRS is the main technical support organization for the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine. This Memorandum established a direct channel for regulatory engagement on the DAVID SMR project, ensuring that safety and licensing considerations would be addressed from the earliest stages of development.
This partnership with Ukraine's nuclear safety regulator was a critical step in preparing the regulatory pathway for potential DAVID SMR deployment in Ukraine.
